Clean hydroelectric power, built for the long haul.
We build, refurbish, and operate small and mid-scale hydroelectric facilities. Many of the plants we work with have been on the grid for decades — and with the right modern controls, have a long second life ahead of them.
About Us
HydroMine Energy is an owner-operator of power generation facilities and data centers in the US, Canada, and globally. We're engineers, operators, and originators based in Jackson, Wyoming. Our team has spent its careers around hydro generation, power systems, and the equipment that runs them. Our team has refurbished over 100 plants around the world.
Many plants run at a fraction of their capability, or sit idle entirely, because the cost of modern interconnect upgrades is hard to justify. We're focused on modernizing facilities to support grid interconnection or dispatchable loads.
Our Work
We work across the full lifecycle of small and mid-scale hydroelectric assets — from greenfield site selection through refurbishment of legacy plants and ongoing day-to-day operation.
Greenfield facilities
Run-of-river and low-head designs from a few hundred kilowatts up through several megawatts. We handle site selection, hydrology, civil, electrical, controls, switchgear, interconnect coordination, and commissioning.
Legacy plant returns
Many regional plants from the 1980s and earlier have sound civil works and tired controls. We modernize protection, automation, and excitation while preserving the turbine, generator iron, and structures. Done well, a refurbished plant runs another half-century.
Day-to-day O&M
24/7 remote monitoring with on-call local response. SCADA, alarms, dispatch logic — every operating decision tied to what makes the plant durable and the asset profitable. Local technicians on call for anything the remote systems can't resolve.
Inside the plants.
A small selection — facilities of the kind we work with, alongside recent walkdown and audit photos from current refurb scope.
Contact Us
We work with hydro plant owners, landowners, utility-side originators, and behind-the-meter offtakers looking for low-cost, low-carbon power. If your situation looks like one of those, we'd like to hear about it.
